Usable for everyone

A card is for everyone, and the site that goes with it should be too. Whether you need large letters, use a screen reader, get by with the keyboard alone, or are on a slightly older device, it should simply work, without any fuss. On this page we take our time to explain how we've seen to that.

How the site is made

The text is generously sized throughout, and with the A, A+ and A++ buttons at the top of the menu you can make it bigger still with a single tap. Would you rather zoom in with your browser? You always can, we never block it. Text and background differ clearly in colour everywhere, so everything stays easy to read, even if your eyes aren't quite as sharp as they were.

You don't need a mouse. Everything works just as well with the keyboard alone, and you can always see clearly where you are. The site plays nicely with read-aloud software too: the headings, the buttons and the input fields all have a name that gets read out, and if something goes wrong, the message is read aloud properly. A brand-new, fast computer isn't needed either. Every step works on an older device or a simple phone as well, and even with JavaScript switched off everything keeps working.

And we keep the language simple. We write in short, everyday sentences and explain every step, so you never have to guess what's meant. Capitals and hyphens in your codes never make any difference, so there's no need to worry that you've typed something in slightly wrong.
